The Caribbean island of Saint Barthélemy is set to dazzle as the 2025 St Barth Bucket Regatta takes center stage from March 13–16, marking the pinnacle of the island’s nautical calendar. This year’s edition promises four days of thrilling races, breathtaking superyachts, and vibrant shoreside festivities, blending world-class sailing with the island’s signature charm.
A Fleet of Giants
Over 30 majestic superyachts, many exceeding 100 feet (30+ meters), will compete across multiple classes designed to showcase their design prowess and speed. Returning favorites include Visione, Rosehearty, Adela, and Velsheda, while newcomers like Galateia, Liberty (a sleek 2024 Southern Wind yacht), and Nefertiti add fresh excitement to the lineup.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled for the 2025 Bucket,” says Event Director Peter Craig. “This fleet represents the pinnacle of sailing craftsmanship, and we’re poised for unforgettable racing and camaraderie in one of the most stunning settings on Earth.”
Racing Innovations and Traditions
The regatta introduces a new 100-foot performance class for 2025, catering to sloops built for speed that fall outside traditional superyacht cruising criteria. These yachts will race a fourth windward-leeward course on Thursday. Meanwhile, the fan-favorite Corinthian Spirit class returns with its non-spinnaker format, emphasizing accessible, low-cost racing.
“The Corinthian Spirit class minimizes crew demands and allows owners to focus on pure enjoyment,” explains Event Manager Jeanne Kleene. “It’s about celebrating the joy of sailing without the pressure of extreme optimization.”

A Legacy of Excellence
Born in Nantucket in 1986 as a casual gathering of yacht enthusiasts, the Bucket Regatta found its permanent home in Saint Barth in 2015. The island’s iteration began humbly in 1995 with just four yachts, including Nelson Doubleday’s Mandalay. Today, it stands as the sole Bucket event globally, drawing elite vessels and crews to its turquoise waters.

Charitable Spirit: Art for a Cause
The regatta’s official 2025 poster, a limited-edition design by an in-house artist from a top fashion brand, is available at Space Gallery (Carré D’Or, Gustavia). Only 200 prints exist (€100 each), with proceeds supporting FEMUR (emergency medical equipment) and the Saint Barth Yacht Club’s sailing school. A fundraising cocktail on March 12 at the gallery will further bolster these causes.
Blessing of the Fleet: A Timeless Tradition
On March 13 at 5:30 PM, the St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church will conduct its annual Fleet Blessing near Gustavia’s iconic anchor, followed by refreshments in Brook Lacour Garden. This centuries-old ritual, once meant to ensure safe voyages for Mediterranean fishermen, now unites the island community in a moment of reflection and hope.
Where to Watch
Prime viewing spots include Fort Oscar (closed Saturday morning due to a ministerial visit), Lurin Hills, Pointe Milou, and the Colombier lookout. For race arrivals and departures, head to Shell Beach or the Gustavia Hospital park.
