If you’re wondering about the locations of grocery stores on St Barts, you’ve come to the right place. Let us guide you to the best spots to stock up on your essentials.
Every day shopping at Super U
Located across the street from the airport car park (where rental companies are located) is the primary everyday grocery store on the island, more commonly referred to as Super U.
This mega supermarket (also called Marche U locally), has an extensive selection of both US and European brands. They have a great deli with lots of choices on their a la carte menu, bakery, amazing cheese department, impressive wine section (perfect for rosé all day), a DIY/home section and then some!
Hours are Monday through Saturday 8 am-8 pm; Closed Sundays
Convenient shopping at U Express-Oasis & Au Rendez-Vous
For those closer to Lorient, try U Express-Oasis which is smaller than Marche U but still has everything you need plus more.
Open Monday-Saturday from 9 am – 9 pm | Sundays from 9 am -1 pm then again from 4 pm -8 pm.
When in Gustavia check out Au Rendez-Vous for fresh produce, baked goods & nice selection of French wines.
Gourmet: Foodland, American Gourmet & L’Épicerie du Goût
Foodland Boutique located in Gustavia is where you want to go if you’re looking for gourmet provisions ranging from ultra-fresh to frozen (think high quality seafood such as caviar & truffles). They also carry a wide variety of international specialties. Additionally, Foodland has a wholesale location in Anse des Cayes where chefs, concierges, and butlers directly source products for their clients, ensuring top-notch freshness tailored to discerning tastes.
Situated in the heart of Gustavia, American Gourmet is ideal for individuals with yachts near the port or other affluent clients seeking exceptional delicacies. Collaborating with award-winning artisans and renowned figures in the culinary world, they offer a selection of world-class foods.
L’Épicerie du Goût in St Jean celebrates French terroir by spotlighting products from artisanal producers and small farms with a focus on quality, taste, and organic practices. Wine lovers will also appreciate the carefully selected wines from family-owned vineyards.
Specialty shops : La Case St-Bart, Café Gloriette and L’Épicerie De Corossol
In Gustavia, visit La Case St-Barth, where you can discover a diverse array of products from various islands, including an extensive selection of agricultural rums.
Also, don’t miss Café Gloriette in Gustavia, known for its artisanally prepared infused rums available at their dedicated rum shop.
L’Épicerie De Corossol offers an array of products including fresh produce, meats, and bakery items, and is renowned for its selection of both local and imported wines.
Villa provisioning
For those who prefer to not deal with shopping there are pre-stocking & provisioning services available on the island of St Barts. These companies will have your villa stocked with groceries, beverages and other necessities prior to arrival so everything is ready for you upon check-in.
Accessibility & convenience
All grocery stores are within a 15 minute drive from any point on the island despite it’s small size. Most stores offer geolocation services on their websites which make it easy to find them via “See The Map” button or “Around Me” feature on mobile devices.
In a nutshell, grocery shopping in St Barts is mind-blowing due to its picturesque landscapes and wide range of options available for purchase from the cheapest to the most expensive.
If you prefer one-stop shopping at large supermarkets such as Marche U, or want something more fancy at places like Foodland or American Gourmet, there will be nothing that can not be found. Saint Barths markets all needs delivering high quality foods and chancing vacations on this luxurious Caribbean island.
